“The tax return is prepared by an outside accounting firm. After completion of said returns, the organization is sent a draft of the tax returns to be reviewed and examined. The organization makes copies of the returns and distributes to those individuals charged with governance. Those individuals at that time can review and if applicable discuss any line items in the return with the accountant who has prepared the return. | IRS990/Desc | 0 | ODC Theaters curatorial theme for 2013s season of presented performances was storytelling. From the one-woman tour de force of Sheetal Gandhis Bahu Beti Biwi to the twelve dance artists from across the country who performed at Walking Distance Dance Festival-SF, various approaches to narrative were showcased on ODC Theaters stage. Over 17,000 people saw a performance at ODC Theater in 2013. Take 5, an audience engagement initiative conceived of and hosted by Theater Director Christy Bolingbroke, has become a quarterly event in which five-minute excerpts of dances are shown. Audiences then vote their five-dollar share to award wholly subsidized rehearsal time to the artist in whom they would like to invest.The Theater also houses our resident artist program, which identifies and supports mid-career dance artists. The first and most comprehensive tier of this program includes four artists: Hope Mohr, Amy Seiwert, Scott Wells and the team Sherwood Chen and Amara Tabor-Smith of Headmistress. The second tier, focused primarily on space access, includes three resident companies: Garrett + Moulton Productions, Robert Moses Kin, and Kate Weare Company. Resident artists take advantage of a range of benefits including Creative Response teams comprised of other artists and ODC senior artistic staff, 80 hours of studio time per year, technical residency weeks in ODC Theater, and commissions for the presentation of new work. Hope Mohr was the first resident artist of this cycle to present her commissioned work, Failure of the Sign is the Sign in May of 2013. |
