Mission and Program Overview

Mission

To change the lives of individuals and families and strengthen communities affected by alcohol, substance use, and behavioral health issues by providing proven and effective treatment, education, research, and training.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Adult recovery homes--clare's adult recovery homes house men and women who are motivated to remain clean and sober but need the structure and support of a residential program.true recovery means more than simple abstinence. It means addressing the issues that lead to addiction, and establishing the habits that support long-term sobriety.clare's men's recovery home (mrh) is a residential program designed specifically for recovering men. Mrh offers structure and an on-site support system that allows clients to establish a sober lifestyle, confront their personal issues and recover their self-esteem as they move back toward independence and self-sufficiency.mrh houses men in a six-month program. Using a daily regimen of 12-step study, peer interaction, group and family meetings, employment workshops, relapse prevention training, volunteer work and community chores, mrh residents lay the groundwork for a rewarding, sober future.clare's men's recovery home is open to recovering men over the age of 18. Participants must: 1. Have a problem with alcohol/drugs 2. Be abstinent from alcohol/drugs for at least 30 days 3. Have participated in a 12-step program within the last 6 months 4. Be able to perform activities of daily living; and 5. Comply with clare house rules.monthly fees are determined upon entry. Rooms are double occupancy. Most rooms are wheelchair accessible.women's treatment program (wtp) allows female clients a place to address the underlying issues specific to women in recovery. Here, the women exist as their own community of peers. The all-female environment provides a safe and distraction-free environment. The clients then work on women's recovery issues: building self-esteem, learning how to be independent, and developing healthier relationships. Since some of the women have children - who are staying with their husbands or other relatives - parenting classes are available so they can learn how to be better role models for their kids.
Activity 3
Community center--substance abuse affects an estimated 22 million americans each year, but the addict rarely suffers alone. Addiction severs marriages and damages the precious bond between parents and children. The clare community center was designed to help treat all those who suffer when a loved one falls prey to addiction.the community center offers free childcare for recovering mothers at their bi-weekly 12-step meetings. Their weekly parent/child art classes give children a chance to explore their imaginations and share a creative adventure with their mothers. The clare family center also maintains an appointment-only food bank, and provides a neighborhood referral source for health, legal and social service assistance. The center also acts as a sober social hub for alumni and community members to gather, support each other's recovery, and celebrate special events in a safe, positive atmosphere. Many single mothers struggle with addiction, but never seek treatment for fear of losing their children. The women with children center houses and heals the whole family - nurturing children while their mothers progress through recovery. The center also provides parenting classes, childcare and job training referrals to stabilize and strengthen families overcoming addiction.clare's prevention program--counselors go to area middle and high schools, community centers and parks to educate youth on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. The focus is on prevention, and healthier ways to deal with stress and pressures that young people face.
