“Clefworks is a music outreach program designed to promote the education and enjoyment of chamber music through a series of performances in the montgomery area. During clefworks 2018-19 season, we brought musicians to over 3,298 people in montgomery. Throughout the academic year we visited 5 schools and 4 other non-profits, including the wetumpka library, alzheimer's ministry, and new beginnings education center. The students served at these various events ranged in ages from kindergarten to college, with a focus on children under 13. For these outreach events, we hired 16 alabama musicians and 3 musicians from from georgia and wisconsin. During our annual cleffest in february, there was one ticketed performance and a free children's concert performance of peter and the wolf, which drew over 100 young children from around the city. Windsync is an education focused chamber music quintet that was brought to montgomery for one week through funding from community grants. This ensemble spent the week engaging the community, visiting schools and sharing their talents with a broad audience. Their final concert was held in a downtown warehouse space to a diverse crowd. 2018-19 cleffest included 6 educational components, shared with students and teachers alike. The festival featured 14 paid guest musicians, 35 volunteers, and clefworks part-time executive director.”
