And internationally. It produces and, where applicable, produces and translates training manuals, dvds and other learning materials.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Have been produced, published and translated. Publication and translation of materials: capacitar wrote and published a new manual, refugee accompaniment, for use with refugees and those who walk with them. The manual focuses on trauma healing and self-care mehtods for secondary trauma, along with the application of practices in different settings. The refugee manual is being translated into french, arabic and spanish for international work to respond to the growing need of refugees. Other advanced training materials have been translated into french, arabic, hebrew, dari, japanese, korean, haitian creole, indonesian and spanish. The capacitar for children manual was translated and published in spanish, and a japanese version for schools is half finished.

New work started with trainings for women and youth impacted by ongoing violence, suicide bombings and trauma in kabul, afghanistan. In african countries-dr congo, rwanda, nigeria and uganda-trauma healing trainings were offered to women and youth who are dealing with trauma and gender violence. Trainings with the barbara ford peace center in quiche', guatemala, focused on formation of mayan health promoters working in their communities to heal gender violence. In panama, trainings were offered to community women's groups focused on healing gender violence, and well as in the penitentiary system. In juarez and chihuahua, mexico, trainings continued with community leaders working with people impacted by human rights abuse, gender violence and with families of the disappeared.

With children and youth at risk. Refugee and detention center response: in el paso and ciudad juarez, teams continue to be trained to respond to the growing needs of churches, community groups and centers dealing with refugee relief and support. Ongoing regular workshops are offered to men and women detainees at the el paso processing and detention center. Trainings are also given at centro san vicente, a community health center serving poor latinos. A capacitar course for social workers (ma level) continues to be offered at the university of texas, el paso utep offering skills for outreach and self- care. Trainings have also been held in tucson, az for those working with refugee outreach and in detention centers. The new refugee accompaniment manual was developed based on the experience of team members from capacitar en la frontera.

Celebration of teams: in june, the 10th anniversary of capacitar rwanda was celebrated in kigali with participants from many organizations attending- women's groups, hiv groups, youth, widows of the genocide, and local officials. A celebration was also convened by the team from drcongo, northern kivu, in gisenyi at the border of rwanda to celebrate all of their accomplishments within 3 years of their founding. Education and training materials: advanced training materials continue to be developed and translated for work in many countries-israel, palestine, ireland, england, scotland, wales, african countries, mexico, guatemala, nicaragua, korea, japan, indonesia. Capacitar methods continue to be incorporated in human rights self-care manuals, and materials for caregivers.
