“Tour planning: our annual membership appreciation event was hosted at the international style home of robert lawton jones faia. The event raised over 10,000, with 250 members attending, including 114 new members and renewals. Modern tulsa and philbrook museum co-hosted speaker christine madrid french to present "saving the modern century", a lecture about the challenges of preserving buildings from the recent past. Tfa participated in "explore downtown" program for school children sponsored by the george kaiser family foundation. This year we provided walking tours of downtown to several different school groups, for grades ranging from 3rd to 7th grade. Tfa partnered with the local aia to host "architread", a bicycle tour through the cbd and brady districts. The annual neighborhood tour "cliff dwellers" featured reservoir hill, a unique neighborhood of architecturally diverse residences built on the hillside of one of tulsa's oldest water reservoirs. The tour brought in more than 9000 in profits from tickets sales & sponsorships. The "dwell in the idl" tour featured 10 residential properties downtown within the inner dispersal loop. This annual event was a great success; it was attended by nearly 450 people and netted over 8,000 from ticket sales and sponsorships. The tour was well publicized due to pre-event interviews and tours by the events committee. 2nd saturday, a monthly walking tour of downtown initiated in 2013, continues to draw people downtown. With the introduction of the "underground tulsa" tunnel tour, attendance has doubled from last year to an average of 100 persons per tour. We have trained more docents and increased the number of tours we provide each month.”
