“Science-art contests and tours: in 2017, sciart exchange held three online contests and artwork tours to engage and educate the public about space, science and technology and foster creative thinking about current and future challenges.1)2017 eclipse over houston contest (https://www.lpi.usra.edu/education/solar-eclipse/ ), in partnership with the lunar and planetary institute, sciart exchange planned and executed a houston-wide literary and visual art contest for all ages and subsequent artwork exhibits to engage the community in the excitement and science behind the 2017 solar eclipse. 1000s viewed the winning artwork during eclipse events. 2)nasa commercial crew program children's calendar contest (https://www.nasa.gov/feature/commercial-crew-2018-artwork-calendar )in partnership with the nasa commercial crew program, sciart exchange executed a calendar contest for children aged 4-12. 3000 entries were received from over 30 countries. 15,000 copies of the completed space art calendar were downloaded in the 3 months since it was posted online in december 2017, spreading interest and excitement about human space exploration.3)nasa project mars competition (www.projectmarscompetition.org )in partnership with nasa, sciart exchange planned and initiated a global film and poster contest about the human exploration of mars. It aims to encourage broad participation in thinking and learning about and contributing to the future of human space exploration. The contest includes an online forum to encourage potential participants to directly ask questions of nasa engineers and opportunities to engage in conversation with other participants. This "dialogue" about space, science and technology is amplified through social media. The contest will continue into the fall of 2018, when winners will be awarded. Sciart exchange is also planning the artwork tour for this project, which will begin late 2018 and last throughout 2019, and aims to further engage art viewers and listeners in space exploration.”

“Science communication, creativity and teamwork training:in 2017, sciart exchange researched and created materials that could be used in lecture, hands-on classroom, and workshop formats to help train in-person participants in science communication, creativity and teamwork using art-integration techniques. The material was used to train science camp directors and community college students in lecture. It was also used as a hands-on activity in multiple schools. The workshop format was also presented as the possum-embry riddle edu 104 sci-arts and science communication course (http://projectpossum.org/science-programs/graduate-programs/science-education-courses/ ).”

“Community-accessible materials: in 2017, sciart exchange provided multiple articles, webinars, and live-streamed events as online resources about the value of science-technology-engineering-art-math (steam) education (http://www.sciartex.net/community.html ). The nonprofit also has multiple social media platforms where it encourages interest in space, science and technology and discusses the value of integrating science and art to foster communication, creativity and teamwork”
