“The mission of interlocking communities, inc.(ici) is to address issues arising from poverty and lack of job skills for non-english speaking residents in gwinnett county. The programs offered by ici are educational and target high risk, school age children and their families.”

“We successfully filled our english language learner and computer classes with approximately 50 adult second language students. Unfortunately, classes were cut short by several weeks because of the coronavirus. In our ell classes, we had hired three english language teachers who not only taught english but spoke to our students about the constitution and good citizenship and encouraging them to read. We formed a partnership with easter seals for our pre-k ready by five classes. Unfortunately, these classes were cut short two weeks because of the coronavirus. We registered approximately 400 students in grades 4 and 5 who were academically behind. Our average attendance was 300 plus. Unfortunately, these classes were cut short two weeks because of the coronavirus.”
