“The mission of interlocking communities, inc.(ici) is to address issues arising from poverty and lack of job skills for non-english speaking residents in gwinnett county. The programs offered by ici are educational and target high risk, school age children and their families.”

“Our ell (english language learner) program was our priority for 2021. Though our participation numbers remained lower than pre-pandemic, our students learned english from a classroom teacher who has worked hard to build a relationship and trust with our students. This relationship and trust allowed our students to build confidence in their abilities, helping them with obtaining a job. Students asked many questions and learned more than english. We have helped them learn to navigate their way through a less -than - familiar new community. Our students spend a break time eating and conversing with each other and their teacher, fostering a sense of community. Our students also have the opportunity to use our rosetta stone software on laptops, on nineteen cumulative levels. Due to the pandemic and numerous other circumstances, we opted not to run our i-gaap (ici's gwinnett academic assist program) or rbf (ready by five program) in 2021. We were prepared to do so, purchasing supplies, etc, but because of the number of as yet unvaccinated people, including younger children, we decided to cancel our plans.”
