Schedule D, Part X, Line 2 FIN 48 (ASC 740) footnote

“ATP is exempt from income taxes on income from related activities under Section 501(c)(6) of the U. S. Internal Revenue Code and corresponding state tax law. Certain of its activities are subject to tax on net unrelated business income from those activities. Also, certain activities conducted outside the United States are subject to a corporate income tax assessed by the respective governmental authorities. ATP's subsidiary is a taxable entity. ATP is not considered to be a private foundation under Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. ATP has adopted applicable guidance with respect to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. A tax position is recognized as a benefit only if it is "more likely than not" that the tax position would be sustained in a tax examination, with a tax examination being presumed to occur. The amount recognized is the largest amount of tax benefit that is greater than 50% likely of being realized on examination. For tax positions not meeting the "more likely than not" test, no tax benefit will be recorded. ATP is no longer subject to examination by taxing authorities for years before 2013. ATP does not expect the total amount of unrecorded tax benefits to significantly change in the next 12 months. ATP recognizes interest and/or penalties related to income tax matters in income tax expense. ATP did not have any amounts accrued for interest and penalties at December 31, 2017 and 2016.”

An all-time record 4.5 million fans attended ATP World Tour events, while a dedicated audience of 995 million tuned in on television and online. The ATP's weekly magazine TV show, ATP World Tour Uncovered, attracted more than 60 million viewers throughout the season, and the ATP produced a documentary series charting the progress of the future stars of the sport ahead of the inaugural Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan. The ATP's worldwide marketing campaign, "Greatness Within", was utilized by approximately 40 tournaments worldwide. The Tour's official website, ATPWorldTour.com, attracted 162 million visits, with total website page impressions reaching 608 million, and the ATP, its players & tournaments, generated a social media following of more than 145 million people.

The ATP World Tour featured 64 tournaments in 31 countries. The ATP successfully launched the inaugural Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan, a new tournament designed to promote the future stars of the sport as well as to trial rule changes and innovation. The event in Milan drew a worldwide audience in excess of 8 million, as well as attracting new brands to the sport, such as Red Bull and Amazon Prime Video as a new broadcast partner. The ATP secured a new 4-year title sponsorship agreement with Nitto Denko Corporation for its season-ending event at The O2 in London, as well as extending the agreement for the tournament to be staged in London through to 2020. The Nitto ATP Finals welcomed more than 250,000 fans to The O2 for a ninth consecutive year. Meanwhile, the ATP Challenger Tour featured 155 tournaments in 40 countries in its role as a stepping stone for players aspiring to compete on the main ATP World Tour.
