IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0FISH COUNTA film crew joined the Fish Count survey of the Channel Islands led by Marine Applied Research and Exploration to discover and determine the degree of success marine protected areas and fishing sites are having in the Channel Islands using scientific measurement to understand how marine ecosystems are reacting to protection from human take. The Fish Count ocean expedition collected deep water data on multiple fish species with submersible remotely operated vehicles (ROV) to compare extensive baseline data taken in 2003 & 2009. Once analyzed the research will reveal outcomes of short/long term marine protection to support the health of critical fisheries in the future.
