“Major events: bonner county economic development corporation, dba pend orielle economic partnership (pep), held three major events during the calendar year: 1. What's happening up north economic summit - this year's theme was "rural and thriving-pillars for community development". Keynotes and panels focused on workforce housing, training and education, and how rural places can maintain their unique character despite development pressures. This was an all day event with approximately 70 attendees from business, government, nonprofit and education sectors. 2. Entrepreneurship workshop - fundamentals for enduring success. The all- day workshop had 33 attendees from all sectors of the economy and included follow-up sessions over the course of the following month for those who requested 3. Resort cities coalition tour - we hosted approximately 35 officials and representatives and put on a workshop and tour on the topic of resilience and reinvention of community and economy.”

Pep now has seven small specialty foods businesses actively growing in the business incubator.”
“Community development activities: pep continued its work collaborating with and supporting various community organizations, including sandpoint area seniors, panhandle area council, innovia foundation, inland northwest partners, community envision resource center, rotary, community heart & soul, presented a leadership workshop at the east bonner county library, held 4 community outreach/listening sessions, created an advisory committee to help shape curriculum and increase enrollment at the north idaho college sandpoint center, and met and collaborated with kaniksu land trust, project 7b, leap housing and approximately 30 other nonprofits, governmental agencies and organizations.”

THE ALL- DAY WORKSHOP HAD 33 ATTENDEES FROM ALL SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY AND INCLUDED FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS OVER THE COURSE OF THE FOLLOWING MONTH FOR THOSE WHO REQUESTED 3. RESORT CITIES COALITION TOUR - WE HOSTED APPROXIMATELY 35 OFFICIALS AND REPRESENTATIVES AND PUT ON A WORKSHOP AND TOUR ON THE TOPIC OF RESILIENCE AND REINVENTION OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMY. |
