The mission of the organization is to work with others to develop a vibrant economy of diverse businesses and industries that offer quality job opportunities and help build prosperity for all in bonner county.

The mission of the organization is to nurture, expand, and diversify the county's economic base by attracting compatible new businesses, working with existing businesses and improving the county's commercial and retail base. This will result in a wider range of employment and income opportunities, and better education and quality of life for county residents.

IN 2017, BONNER COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ACCOMPLISHED THE FOLLOWING: BONNER COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION EXECUTED OUR YEAR THREE - "WHAT'S HAPPENING UP NORTH" ECONOMIC SUMMIT. -ATTENDANCE OF OVER 150 LOCAL AND REGIONAL BUSINESS AND PUBLIC OFFICIALS -YEAR 4 IS SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 2018 WITH A FOCUS ON HOUSING. FIBER NETWORK 1 BARRIER TO BUSINESS GROWTH AND RETENTION IN BONNER COUNTY -TING HAS ESTABLISHED OFFICES AND A SERVICE CENTER. 1ST PROJECT IS FIBER TO THE SCHWEITZER VILLAGE. -FATBEAM ARE FINALIZING THEIR EXECUTION PLANS FOR HIGH SPEED INTERNET IN SANDPOINT, THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES. BUSINESS RETENTION/EXPANSION BONNER COUNTY - ESTABLISHMENT OF PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS -ESTABLISHED WITH BONNER COUNTY A REVISED 63-602NN LOWERING THE CAPITAL LIMIT TO 500,000 AND REMOVING THE MANUFACTURING REQUIREMENT. THIS OPENS THE DOOR FOR RECREATION, MANUFACTURING, HOSPITALS ETC. -COMPANIES NOW UNDER 63-602NN LITEHOUSE QUEST MOUNTAIN METALS PONDERAY WELLNESS CENTER TAMARACK CRYPTOROCK PAPE MACHINERY BONNER COUNTY LABOR SUPPORT - VAN POOLS -WORKED WITH QUEST, SPOT BUS TO EXPAND THEIR SERVICE NOW TO THREE BUSSES. THORNE -COMPLETE VALUATION AND REAL ESTATE LISTING FOR THE THORNE BUILDING WITH THE SANDPOINT OWNER. LISTED THE PROPERTY ON GEM STATE PROSPECTOR. AEROCET -WORKING ON DESIGN FOR THE BUILDING AND WITH THE DEQ FOR THE FINAL APPROVAL OF THE JD LUMBER SITE IN PRIEST RIVER PERCUSSIONAIRE -COMPLETED RELOCATION TO THE OLD COLDWATER CREEK HIGH BAY BUILDING. In 2017, bonner county economic development corporation accomplished the following: bonner county economic development corporation executed our year three - "what's happening up north" economic summit. -attendance of over 150 local and regional business and public officials -year 4 is scheduled for november 2018 with a focus on housing. Fiber network 1 barrier to business growth and retention in bonner county -ting has established offices and a service center. 1st project is fiber to the schweitzer village. -fatbeam are finalizing their execution plans for high speed internet in sandpoint, the school district and surrounding communities. Business retention/expansion bonner county - establishment of property tax exemptions -established with bonner county a revised 63-602nn lowering the capital limit to 500,000 and removing the manufacturing requirement. This opens the door for recreation, manufacturing, hospitals etc. -companies now under 63-602nn litehouse quest mountain metals ponderay wellness center tamarack cryptorock pape machinery bonner county labor support - van pools -worked with quest, spot bus to expand their service now to three busses. Thorne -complete valuation and real estate listing for the thorne building with the sandpoint owner. Listed the property on gem state prospector. Aerocet -working on design for the building and with the deq for the final approval of the jd lumber site in priest river percussionaire -completed relocation to the old coldwater creek high bay building. Percussionaire has added 20 new jobs since the relocation. New business opportunities provided information for 4 idaho state department of commerce rfi's that have the potential of bringing in over 300 jobs into bonner county. Supporting the location of cryptorock to the priest river industrial park including a lease/buy offer and electrical assessment. This is 10 new high-tech jobs for priest river. Idaho department of commerce rural ed professional grant updated rural ed grant documents and bcedc plan so the department of commerce rural ed grant would be executed for 2017/2018. -updated marketing plan -setup 2017/2018 department of commerce goals for bcedc -coordinated with the bonner county commissioners completion of required documents. -renewal was approved in july 2017. Created a relationship with the department of commerce that allows the bcedc to be the arms and legs of the department in bonner county. Public relationships bonner county manufacturers meetings -completed two meetings with the manufacturing businesses in bonner county with the purpose of insuring that we have our eyes on their labor needs. -completed a mfg. Survey of labor needs and published at the "what's happening up north" economic summit in november
