The mission of the organization is to work with others to develop a vibrant economy of diverse businesses and industries that offer quality job opportunities and help build prosperity for all in bonner county.

The mission of the organization is to nurture, expand, and diversify the county's economic base by attracting compatible new businesses, working with existing businesses and improving the county's commercial and retail base. This will result in a wider range of employment and income opportunities, and better education and quality of life for county residents.

IN 2019, THE ORGANIZATION RE-EVALUATED THE MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE AT BCEDC WITH THE GOAL OF ENGAGING A BROADER SCALE OF SMALL, MEDIUM AND LARGE SIZED BUSINESSES. IN NOVEMBER OF 2019, THE BCEDC LAUNCHED A NEW ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE FOR 149 PER YEAR. OVER THE COURSE OF 30 DAYS AND DURING THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT, BCEDC ADDED 24 NEW MEMBERS FROM A WIDE VARIETY OF INDUSTRIES AND LOCATIONS ACROSS BONNER COUNTY. EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS IN 2019, BCEDC LAUNCHED A NEW WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE TO ENSURE EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION AND EASY ACCESS POINTS FOR CURRENT, NEW AND POTENTIAL BUSINESSES IN THE AREA. 2019 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT IN 2019, WE EXECUTED OUR 5TH ANNUAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT FEATURING A WIDE VARIETY OF TOPICS FROM HOUSING AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND ECONOMIC OUTLOOK. OUR ATTENDANCE INCLUDED OVER 140 LOCAL AND REGIONAL BUSINESS LEADERS. In 2019, the organization re-evaluated the membership structure at bcedc with the goal of engaging a broader scale of small, medium and large sized businesses. In november of 2019, the bcedc launched a new annual membership structure for 149 per year. Over the course of 30 days and during the economic development summit, bcedc added 24 new members from a wide variety of industries and locations across bonner county. External communications in 2019, bcedc launched a new website and social media presence to ensure external communication and easy access points for current, new and potential businesses in the area. 2019 economic development summit in 2019, we executed our 5th annual economic development summit featuring a wide variety of topics from housing and workforce development to entrepreneurship and economic outlook. Our attendance included over 140 local and regional business leaders. In addition, our event garnered over 15,000 for the bcedcs programs and served as a launchpad for new energy and engagement in the organizations mission. Guest speakers and topics included: morning keynote bryce ralston, columbia trust afternoon keynote: marc brinkmeyer, chairman, idaho forest group housing: success stories in bonner county scott auld, schweitzer mountain chris bassett, bcha todd prescott, whitewater creek justin schuck, idagon chris chambers, sotheby's international realty workforce development: private & public partnerships to cultivate workforce dr. Charles buck, university of idaho jason eddy, daher vicki isakson, nic christine callison, nic at sandpoint/bonners ferry meg lindsay, innovia foundation entrepreneurship: concept to market brian cox, mazzaroth kimberly manning, kochava racheal mcdonough, mofi ryan arnold, nic wally jacobson, panhandle area council aaron mcmurray, innovia foundation business retention/expansion daher in late 2019, daher, the worlds oldest operational plane manufacturing business, acquired quest aviation. The bcedc continues to play a critical role in fostering growth and expansion conversations with daher leadership both in sandpoint and abroad. From airport compliance and expansion to workforce development and government relations -- bcedc is excited to announce sandpoint, id as home to dahers first manufacturing facility in the united states with continued creation of the kodiak. 63-602nn after the establishment of property tax exemptions and lowering the capital limit to 500,000 threshold, the bcedc is working directly with the county and their attorney to navigate applications and their progress. Companies approved under 63-602nn in 2019 include: mountain metals -- a metal fabricating business which just built a new facility in ponderay and will receive a 75 percent tax exemption. Sandpoint properties -- a company working to expand medical facilities and bring more medical professionals to ponderay. They qualified for a 50 percent exemption. Ponderay industrial park -- which houses the new diedrich roasters facility received a 50 percent exemption. Idagon homes -- a local contractor qualified for a 75 percent exemption. Diedrich roasters diedrich roasters completed their expansion into a brand new, state of the art facility in ponderay, id. All operations have been moved under the new building.

IN NOVEMBER OF 2019, THE BCEDC LAUNCHED A NEW ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE FOR 149 PER YEAR. OVER THE COURSE OF 30 DAYS AND DURING THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT, BCEDC ADDED 24 NEW MEMBERS FROM A WIDE VARIETY OF INDUSTRIES AND LOCATIONS ACROSS BONNER COUNTY. EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS IN 2019, BCEDC LAUNCHED A NEW WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE TO ENSURE EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION AND EASY ACCESS POINTS FOR CURRENT, NEW AND POTENTIAL BUSINESSES IN THE AREA. 2019 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT IN 2019, WE EXECUTED OUR 5TH ANNUAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUMMIT FEATURING A WIDE VARIETY OF TOPICS FROM HOUSING AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND ECONOMIC OUTLOOK. OUR ATTENDANCE INCLUDED OVER 140 LOCAL AND REGIONAL BUSINESS LEADERS.
