The mission of the organization is to work with others to develop a vibrant economy of diverse businesses and industries that offer quality job opportunities and help build prosperity for all in bonner county.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 28

Infrastructure development and economic growth the organization wrote and solicited support letters and gave testimony for successful initiatives to improve lake and trail access in ponderay, expand preschools in sandpoint, and the expansion of fiber optic broadband internet infrastructure working with intermax networks and kaniksu internet. The nonprofit also initiated a grant from uscoc for talent pipeline management in conjunction with cda edc, and worked confidentially with multiple companies re: business improvement or relocation to the county.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 29

Economic summit and community development in may, the organization hosted the economic summit, "what's happening up north," at the university of idaho sandpoint organic agriculture center. This marked the first summit since a 3.5-year break due to the pandemic. The event gathered leaders from 25 local and regional companies, civic authorities, nonprofits, and educational institutions. It featured keynote speakers, q&a sessions, and breakout sessions focused on affordable workforce housing, k-12 public education, workforce training, and overcoming polarization and vilification in public discourse.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 30

Commercial kitchen business incubator revitalization in early 2023, the nonprofit established the pend oreille specialty foods incubator inc. To take over the management of kitchen ponderay, a commercial kitchen business incubator. This came after the previous management defaulted, endangering the future of the incubator. The new nonprofit secured a 30-month lease with no debts, reinstating local control and management, and implemented the original intended business incubator component.

Form 990-ez, Part III, Line 31

Strategic and collaborative initiatives throughout the year, the organization engaged in several strategic initiatives, including working with bonner county commissioners and the city of sandpoint to explore current and future support mechanisms. Additionally, they formed relationships with organizations like fare idaho and the idaho veterans chamber of commerce, aiming to integrate traditionally separate industries into local economic development efforts and to better serve our military veteran stakeholders.
