Supplemental Narrative

Financial Statement Notes

Part V, Line 4: Intended uses of the endowment fund.

The Manor's endowments consist of twenty-two individual donor-restricted funds and two board-restricted funds established to benefit operations and specific funds. All of the endowments resulted from Charitable Gift Annuity contracts or other agreements between the donor and The Oklahoma United Methodist Foundation (OKUMF) located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In all cases, there were explicit donor stipulations that after the donor's death, the remaining principal will be placed in permanently restricted endowments held and invested by the Foundation. In addition, the donors instructed that only earnings are to be paid to the Manor as unrestricted or temporarily restricted distributions. The board-restricted funds are held with OKUMF and Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF.) The Organization's investment policies, including distribution and spending policies, apply to the board-restricted funds.

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

The manor has adopted the provisions of fasb accounting standards codification topic asc 740-10 (previously financial interpretation no. 48, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes.) the implementation of this standard had no impact on the financial statements. As of both the adoption date and at december 31, 2014, the unrecognized tax benefit accrual was zero.

Officers during 2014 were Jess Evans, President, Joanna Tuers, Vice President, and Beverly Niebruegge, Secretary.Past Board members formed an advisory committee.A one-day seminar on board leadership and philanthropic responsibility was attended by the OMM Board and board members from community non-profits. The presenter was Jerry Panas, nationally known philanthropic consultant. Wellness Programs at OMM"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." - World Health OrganizationThe number of members using the Spann Wellness Center grew in 2014, indicating physical wellness and education were a priority for them. There were 14,994 visits, of which 6,099 were from women and 8,895 from men. Classes cover a wide range of physical needs including balance, strength, range of motion, flexibility, arthritis, osteoporosis and endurance. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states, "Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of both fatal and nonfatal injuries." The wellness team collected data and documented the fact that by using the Spann Wellness Center regularly, members cut their chances of falling by greater than half. Those who did not use the Spann Wellness Center were three times more likely to have a major lifestyle change after a fall. To support regular exercise programs in 2014, Spann offered a 6 month course to focus on osteoporosis. For those who completed the class there was an increase in muscle strength and bone density as well as a gain of muscle and a loss of body fat. The numbers varied for each individual but everyone saw some improvement in one or more areas tested.Health Care at OMMMedical treatment should be the servant of genuine human caring, never its master. (The 7th principle of the Eden Alternative)Over 100 people attended the World Maker training, the introduction and basic education for person-centered care. 24 caregivers became Certified Eden Associates in 2014. Four staff members were credentialed as Eden Trainers. Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a six-week course designed to help caregivers thrive when fulfilling the call to care for a loved one, was presented three times in 2014. Staff Wellness Nurse and Chaplain facilitated the classes that were attended by staff and family members. In 2014 the Health Care Households provided care to 242 individuals. Of that number, 167 individuals briefly resided in the health care households for rehabilitation before returning home. The average length of rehabilitation stay was 34 days. The Holliman Living Center provided care to 67 individuals.Students from both the OU and OSU Medical Schools were hosted in 2014. These students gain exposure to long-term care during the Residency programs by "job shadowing" various leaders within Oklahoma Methodist Manor. OMM also served as a clinical site location for students in OU, ORU and Tulsa Tech's licensed nursing programs.Medicaid recipients who needed supplemental as
