“In 2024 hattheatre taught approx. 210 students, youth, teen and adult. We produced 4 mainstage shows and two adult class showcases. Our youth resident company was able to perform two family friendly shows. Our summer camps were full. All performances at the end of the camps are offered free of charge. We started a new pay-what-you-can series called spotlight series that shines a light on theatre, film, and music. Produced every other month for one or two nights, it is a way for the community to engage in the arts while not having to worry about a set ticket price. Our student base continues to be inclusive and we serve those who fall on the autism spectrum as well as those diagnosed with adhd and other learning abilities. We currently have one student in a motorized wheelchair (he has been with us for several years), and one with muscular dystrophy. Our goal is to mainstream all populations. We serve all of the greater rva area with students coming from almost every surrounding county. Some adult students come from an hour away as well.”
