Part III response or note to any other line in Part III

In 2019 hattheatre taught approx. 200 students, kids and adults, a combination of performing arts and public speaking classes. This includes a school year (sept.april) 26 week afterschool program, summer camp/workshops juneaugust, and two adult classes that run continuously all year in 6 week blocks. We also continued to provide a class off-site to students at the local montessori school. One is in the fall and one is in the spring. Our youth classes saw some slight increases this year, but we continue to struggle with overhead. We were able to offer a brother and his sister classes on full scholarship this year. Two adult students attended for free in exchange for support for shows. Instead of offering scholarships for our summer program, we provided 1/2 price deals through facebook ad our student base includes those who fall on the autism spectrum as well as those diagnosed with adhd and other learning disabilities. Our goal is to mainstream all populations. We serve all of the greater rva area with students coming from all surrounding counties. Our free one-act weekend served approx 85, our end year performance served approx 175. Every summer workshop week ends with a free performance for family and friends of the students. Total audience over the summer was approx 155. The youth troupe performances, one in the fall and one in the spring, served the community with 6 shows attended by approx 380. Our adult series this year produced 2 shows (15 performances) and served approx 650 audience members. Community service days were held several times this year. We were able to bring these kids into the theatre where they could gain those hours with our non-profit. This year was our year to take our adult and teen students to ny for four days to take classes and see shows. We go every three years. This year we went on nov. 14-17. We took 50 people on the trip, our highest ever. The students took two classes, they also got to perform the opening for the radio city music hall rockettes and see two other shows. The larger amount of money (unusual for us) brought in this year was from payments they made for the trip. They paid $650 each and that included the bus, the hotel, the classes and shows. Any deficit we made up, for since we try to keep the costs as low as possible for the students.
