The organization has a written conflict of interest policy that is completed by its' directors and employees. The conflict of interest statement is reviewed yearly, and is on file at the organization's office. The board or a duly constituted committee thereof shall determine whether a conflict exists and in the case of an existing conflict, whether the contemplated transaction may be authorized as just, fair and reasonable to project fine. The decision of the board or a duly constituted committee thereof on these matters will rest in their sole discretion, and their concern must be the welfare of project fine and the advancement of its purpose.

Form 990, Page 6, Part VI, Line 15A

A performance review of the executive director is conducted annually by the executive committee of the board of directors. The review and any applicable salary adjustment is brought before the full board for a vote and documentation in the meeting minutes. The purpose of the review is to document the past year's performance, develop a work plan for the coming year, provide feedback for work related goals and determine what resources are needed to be successful. The review shall be written and specifically address each of the areas noted above. Following the performance review, the board of directors will meet in closed session to discuss the review. At this time, the board will also discuss any necessary compensation adjustments. Any adjustments will be voted upon by the board of directors and presented to the executive director.

Learn to code: provides technology education focused on computer coding and app creation for middle and high school students. 50 students participated in program activities in 2017. Cultural arts & ancestry: hmong art: empowers local hmong artists to share their skills and build awareness of their culture and traditional arts in the community. 52 individuals and 3 artists participated in the program in 2017. Girls reaching above and beyond: designed to help girls age 10-18 discover their identity and strengths and create a roadmap to pursue their dreams. In 2017, 22 girls participated. College education connection: provides academic support and access to resources for youth as they pursue higher education. In 2017, 7 scholarships were awarded to program participants. Kid's cultural club: youth age 5-12 participate in weekly sessions focused on building cross-cultural awareness and relationships. In 2017, 45 youth particpated in program activities. African percussion & drum circle: sharing the tradition and importance of drumming and percussion in african cultures through workshops and community events. 42 individuals participated in the program in 2107. Camp scholarships: in 2017, project fine provided summer camp scholarships to 17 youth from refugee and immigrant families. Diversity training: educational training on specific cultures and how to develop a welcoming environment. In 2017, 750 individuals received training. Colorful growers: youth age 10-18 participate in agricultural education, plan and plant their own garden plot, and sell their produce at local markets. In 2017, 15 individuals participated. Developing diverse workforce solutions: this project seeks to discover availbable resources related to diversity in southeastern mn and provide training for businesses on best practices to recruit and retain diverse employees. In 2017, 88 employers participated in training sessions. Safe & healthy families: education and referrals related to household safety, disaster preparedness and personal relationships. 88 individuals participated in 2016. Hearing the voices-digital edition: the goal of this project is to document and share refugee and immigrant stories through video. In 2017, 8 indiviuals shared their story on video.

In accordance with professional standards, the organization follows the statutory requirements for their income tax accounting and generally avoids risks associated with potentially problematic tax positions that may be challenged upon examination. Accordingly, the organization believes that it does not have any uncertain tax positions. The organization adopted these provisions on january 1, 2009. There was no impact on the financial statements upon implementation. As of the date of adoption and december 31, 2017, the unrecognized tax benefit accrual was zero. The organization will recognize future accrued interest and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits in income tax, if incurred.

COLORFUL GROWERS: YOUTH AGE 10-18 PARTICIPATE IN AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION, PLAN AND PLANT THEIR OWN GARDEN PLOT, AND SELL THEIR PRODUCE AT LOCAL MARKETS. IN 2017, 15 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED. DEVELOPING DIVERSE WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS: THIS PROJECT SEEKS TO DISCOVER AVAILBABLE RESOURCES RELATED TO DIVERSITY IN SOUTHEASTERN MN AND PROVIDE TRAINING FOR BUSINESSES ON BEST PRACTICES TO RECRUIT AND RETAIN DIVERSE EMPLOYEES. IN 2017, 88 EMPLOYERS PARTICIPATED IN TRAINING SESSIONS. SAFE & HEALTHY FAMILIES: EDUCATION AND REFERRALS RELATED TO HOUSEHOLD SAFETY, DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS. 88 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN 2016. HEARING THE VOICES-DIGITAL EDITION: THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO DOCUMENT AND SHARE REFUGEE AND IMMIGRANT STORIES THROUGH VIDEO. IN 2017, 8 INDIVIUALS SHARED THEIR STORY ON VIDEO.
