Activity 2

Advocacy and education specific activities in 2010: -developed and released a major report, "planning to succeed" about regional government, transportation and land use planning in the twin cities region which was widely distributed. -worked with partner organizations to develop a presentation and written materials about transit and transit funding in minnesota and presented to numerous groups.-participated in community and regional discussions on development of the central corridor and southwest corridor light rail transit projects. -maintained a web site and disseminated written and e-information on public transit, bicycling, walking, and transit oriented development. -helped to lead the minnesota complete streets coalition which worked to develop and urge passage of a law making complete streets the policy of the state of minnesota. Continue to participate in an official state agency advisory committee on implementation of complete streets in minnesota.-submitted written comments on important reports including: the minnesota department of transportation's proposed americans with disabilities act transition plan, metropolitan council transportation policy plan, and transportation improvement program (tip) solicitation.-facilitated a transit-oriented-development advisory committee. -helped to develop and promote changes to make state transportation goals clearer and more measurable.

Activity 3

Grassroots organizing specific activities in 2010:-increased our member network by approximately 1000 supporters and trained 150 member leaders through trainings and meetings throughout the year. -worked with member teams to host the first-ever gubernatorial forum on transportation, land use, and the environment (january), participate in workshops and trainings (january-february), organize an east metro event and an organization-wide celebration (august), and design and present a recurring workshop on transit funding basics (nov-dec), and reach out to countless transit supporters via local community events.-organized celebration for over 100 at minnehaha park featuring member-speakers and local leaders educating participants about the importance of multi-modal transportation and thanking volunteers and activists for their work in communities around the region.-provided outreach support at a number of small events - the living green expo and the state fair eco-experience.
