| IRS990/Description | 0 | 2012 was The Possible Project's first full year of programming and was a huge success. The students who began with TPP in the 2011 pilot programs spent this fall applying to colleges and training programs and many of them cited TPP in their college essays and interviews as a motivating factor for their hard work and embracing of their possibilities. In 2012, TPP served 56 students (with more than 85% falling under one or more risk categories- low socioeconomic status, recent immigrant, and/or recipient of an Individualized Education Plan) from the three public high schools in Cambridge- Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS), Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC), and Prospect Hill Academy Charter School (PHA). TPP continued to refine its model and moved to a progressive six-level program, with each level being offered three times per year to work with varying student schedules. Key successes in 2012 included: partnering with the third and final public high school, PHA, and taking a group of PHA students through Level One in the summer trimester and Level Two in the fall; running Levels One, Two, and Three simultaneously for the first time during the fall trimester; rolling out a Development Plan and beginning fundraising activities; hiring a Business Operations Specialist to run TPP's two in-house businesses, both of which began to generate revenue for TPP in 2012, and supervise the student participants; and reaching an additional 50+ students, who could not participate in formal programming, through workshops and activities. The Possible Project's main goals for 2013 are: reaching steady state in the fall trimester, with all six levels running concurrently; commencement of expansion activities; holding its first Signature Annual Event to raise funds and visibility for TPP; launching Pathways Advising (the fourth program component) with the hire of a full-time Career Development Advisor; and engaging an external institution to develop a longitudinal evaluation system for measuring desired outcomes. |

| IRS990ScheduleD/Form990ScheduleDPartXIII/Explanation | 0 | On December 10, 2010, the Internal Revenue Service granted the Organization an exemption from federal taxes under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in Section 501(c)(3). However, certain activities of exempt organizations, to the extent profitable, may be subject to Federal and State taxation as unrelated business income. As required by ASC 740 10, the Organization recognizes the financial statement benefit of a tax position only after determining that the relevant tax authority would more likely than not sustain the position following an audit. For tax positions meeting the more-likely-than-not threshold, the amount recognized in the financial statements is the largest benefit that has a greater than 50 percent likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement with the relevant tax authority. Management of the Organization has determined there are no material unrecognized tax benefits as of December 31, 2012. Accordingly, the Organization has not recorded any provision for income taxes. The Organization's' U.S. Federal and state income tax returns remain open to examinations by the tax authorities. |
