Activity 2

Leadership - Leadership consists of several programs:a) The Leadership Summit was held in Atlanta, GA in late January with over 200 volunteer leaders from the Association. The Board of Directors also attends and holds its first meeting of the year.b) The President, President-Elect and CEO visit with chapters and divisions throughout the year to give speeches, share association news, and promote information professionals to businesses and others. c) Leadership travels to increase global awareness and participation from those outside of North America. The Association also supports the many non-government North American chapters by sending materials and speakers.d) Staff work with chapters and divisions to expand the membership base and member services. Each unit has a Board and both the staff and Board members work with the units on finance, public relations, public policy, professional development, sponsorship, management, etc.e) The Leadership Development Institute was held in Chicago, IL, in conjunction with the Annual Conference. It is a 90-minute training and professional development opportunity for the leaders of the chapters, divisions, and caucuses followed by 2-3 hours of unit governance meetings.

Activity 3

Membership growth and development - Membership Development is comprised of several key components:a) The monthly invoicing and dues processing for all existing members.b) Recruitment campaigns to acquire new members and reinstate former members.c) The allotment of dues to all chapters, divisions and caucuses.d) The magazine subscriptions for all members.
