“Prior to filing, the form 990 is reviewed by the organization's operations manager and president.”
“Directors are required to annually submit a conflict of interest disclosure form. Board chair will follow up to ensure all directors have complied.”
“An executive compensation committee uses available comparability data and other fair and reasonable bases to make a recommendation to the board as to the salaries of the executive director, president, and other top management. The board will then review and vote on the committee's recommendations. All deliberation and decisions are contemporaneously substantiated in the minutes.”
“Governing documents, important policies, and financial statements are available upon request.”

“Design principles to generate solutions that scale and replicate. Poptech initiatives are exemplar of our ability to facilitate unconventional cross-sector collaboration. In addition, poptech explores unique areas of global interest through poptech labs and salons, consulting projects, as well as its annual thought leadership forum. The production of impact and social change media is a key to poptech's mission. This capacity enables us to do unique reporting on projects and share insights, in addition to capturing our own work; we routinely create documentary bodies of work for select partners. In 2016 we partnered with microsoft to design and facilitate a salon focused on human creativity. The results were published in poptech edition: supercreativity. This work was an extension of an eight-part video series entitled the changing world of work, created in 2015. In 2017 we will continue our work with microsoft, exploring the potential of high impact networks. Poptech and n square, a consortium of funders focused on nuclear non- proliferation, have been partnering since 2015. Our initial work focused on connecting our networks to increase the potential of impactful work. In 2016 we worked closely on a number of initiatives focused on enhancing public engagement around escalating nuclear threat. Our activities included hosting a panel discussion at the tribeca film festival in conjunction with two important releases - the film command and control and the multi-media performance piece the bomb. We also designed and facilitated an all-day design charrette to rebrand nuclear threat. The event was attended by leading funders, nuclear experts and the most progressive thinkers in the advertising. These activities resulted in the recent publication of evolving nuclear conversations, produced in collaboration with n square, populist and nucleus. Our 2016 activities commenced with the co-hosting of disruptive futures: through these activities and more, poptech continues to gain global recognition as a leading participant in the field of social innovation.”

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | (SEE SCHEDULE O FOR COMPLETE DESCRIPTION) POPTECH'S SOCIAL INNOVATION FELLOWS AND SCIENCE FELLOWS PROGRAMS REPRESENT CORE MISSION COMMITMENTS OF POPTECH. THE PROGRAMS WERE FOUNDED IN 2008 AND 2010 RESPECTIVELY. THE GOAL OF THE PROGRAMS IS TO ACCELERATE THE IMPACT OF FUTURE LEADERS, INNOVATORS AND SCIENTISTS THROUGH TRAINING, MENTORSHIP AND RECOGNITION. THE PROGRAMS HAVE PRODUCED A 170-MEMBER ALUMNI NETWORK WHOSE WORK HAS POSITIVELY AFFECTED ROUGHLY 300 MILLION PEOPLE IN OVER 105 COUNTRIES WORLDWIDE. POPTECH FELLOWS HAVE ACHIEVED THEIR IMPACT BY: 1) CREATING TRANSFORMATIONAL TECHNOLOGY PLATFORMS THAT ARE DEPLOYED WORLDWIDE; 2) DEVELOPING NEW DISTRIBUTION MODELS THAT ALLOW A PRODUCT, SERVICE OR HUMANITARIAN AID TO BE WIDELY DEPLOYED; AND 3) UTILIZING HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN PRINCIPLES TO GENERATE SOLUTIONS THAT SCALE AND REPLICATE. OUR 2016 ACTIVITIES COMMENCED WITH THE CO-HOSTING OF DISRUPTIVE FUTURES: THROUGH THESE ACTIVITIES AND MORE, POPTECH CONTINUES TO GAIN GLOBAL RECOGNITION AS A LEADING PARTICIPANT IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL INNOVATION. |
