| IRS990/Desc | 0 | Direct Family, Youth and Adult ServicesYouth Grantmakers (YGM)Goal/Mission: To compile local high school teens and provide them a platform to support their peer's greatest needs in San Bernardino County. This goal is achieved through compiling local teens ages 13-18 to create a group of youth philanthropists. Youth perform needs assessments and develop a consensus of current teen issues such as alcohol prevention, life skills, bullying and more. These issues are then voted into five main funding priorities that allow organizations to write for funding support in their youth programs. Monthly meetings allow program youth to participate in the distribution of community needs assessments, events, debates, fundraising, program monitoring, and site visits. While active in the program, teens gain leadership skills, receive a better understanding of philanthropy, and gain a sense of community and teamwork.Crossroads EducationGoal/Mission: To serve as an Other Means of Correction (OMC) prevention and behavior intervention strategy for students exhibiting at-risk behavior and/or academic failure. The two main goals of Crossroads Education are to: (a) reduce incarcerations and/or juvenile justice involvement, and (b) reduce school failure and/or dropout rates. The program offers curriculum-based, highly interactive group experiences in Anger Management, Drugs & Alcohol, Cognitive Life Skills, Truancy and Parenting.GROW MentoringGoal: To help young people gain life skills, understand goal planning, and become a more rounded person through mentoring and group outings. This goal is accomplished through mentoring 13-18 year olds, youth participation in group outings and one on one sessions with mentors that assist their development physically, mentally, and emotionally and recruiting volunteer mentors who have past work experience with youth. There is a screening process that includes an orientation, background check, and they match on same gender.Fontana ContractGoal: To increase awareness, assist with policy implementation, and support school districts as they seek to become better equipped and more inclusive of their LGBTQ and gender variant students in knowledge, practice, and policy. This program is designed to provide training and education, supports, and policy implementation guidance for school districts in regards to LGBTQ, primarily gender variant students. This is done through consultations, training and resource provision, outreach and education at all levels, and collaborative strategic planning. Supports of this kind are crucial to increase inclusion, leading to decreased disciplinary disparities, decreased bullying, decreased absenteeism, and increased school connectedness with higher graduation, higher G.P.A., and other positive involvement outcomes.Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP)Goal/Mission: To prevent recidivism in families receiving social services, lower the rate of multi-parent teenage pregnancies, reduce the rate of juvenile delinquency and alcohol abuse, and stop the intergenerational cycle of child abuse by teaching positive behaviors and nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglectful parenting. This goal is achieved through the following structure: Parents (some who are court ordered) and children attend 12-16 sessions of 1 to 2 hours long. These sessions cover the five constructs, which are the pillars of Nurturing Parenting Program: Construct A: Appropriate expectations, Construct B: Empathy, Construct C: Non-violent discipline, Construct D: Appropriate family roles, Construct E: Power and independence. Pre, Process, and Post Assessments are conducted using AAPI, NSCS, and ongoing observations of parents' involvement during sessions.PC 1000Goal/Mission: To provide first-time drug offenders with an important alternative incarcerationReach Out offers a court-mandated, fee-for-service program where first-time drug offenders enroll in a 16-week program. Upon completion, charges are dismissed af |

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | Policy & AdvocacyEnvironmental Prevention (EP) ProgramGoal: To lower access and availability of alcohol & other drugs in communities through presentations, collaborative work, and community advocacy and policy work. This accomplishment of this goal is assisted through the Partners for Innovation Communities (PIC), Fontana Community Coalition (FCC) and the Morongo Community Coalition (MCC).Partners for Innovative Communities (PIC)Goal/Mission: A coalition that brings together community members and organizations to achieve common drive goals within San Bernardino and Riverside County. This goal and vision is accomplished through the Youth Court, Bullying Workshop, ABC Taskforce and Substance Abuse workgroups. Youth Court Youth Courts are a peer to peer based program in which youth, who have committed minor offenses or have shown problematic behavior, are sentenced by their peers. Modeled after the judicial system, this program provides an opportunity for first time offenders to clear their record, while at the same time remain accountable to themselves, their victims, and to society as a whole as decided by other youth who sit on the jury and deliver a sentence.Youth Leadership InitiativeGoal: The program is built to have students learn how to address youth issues within their community through policy and advocacy methods. Students will ultimately create a policy that will aid in creating a healthier and sustainable community. Participants in this program gain public speaking skills, learn conflict resolution, and how to become a positive and active member of the community. This goal is achieved through six different lessons taught including topics of: policy, advocacy, and prevention, social determinants of health, public speaking, and research. Students create prevention/awareness projects on tobacco, alcohol and drugs. The Program is run in 16 week increments in schools. Some sessions are held during health classes, during lunch and after school. There are Pre & Post Surveys.Youth Grantmakers (YGM) Goal/Mission: To compile local high school teens and provide them a platform to support their peer's greatest needs in San Bernardino County. While active in the program, teens gain leadership skills, receive a better understanding of philanthropy, and gain a sense of community and teamwork.Drug Free Communities (CSUSB/CBU)Reach Out is subcontracted by Cal Baptist University to work with Healthy Jurupa Valley Coalition to work on underage alcohol, marijuana, synthetic drug and prescription drug abuse. We are working on community assessments, advocacy, policy, enforcement and media strategies to lower access and availability.
