Activity 2

Public media strategies program:public media strategies manages sf commons, san francisco's public access television station, under a contract with the city of san francisco, and related community media productions, services, and training programs.the program's current priorities include the development, implementation and operations and programs, a community news program (the neighborhood news network, or n3) designed to engage non-profits and producers in producing local journalistic content for community television and the web, the development of web site systems to enable user-directed broadcast, web streaming, archiving, and distribution of content, a broadband adoption program in collaboration with the city of san francisco to encourage local broadband use by low income residents over three years, and the development of related innovative public media production, archive and distribution initiatives in collaboration with other bavc departments.

Activity 3

Training and resourcesbavc is one of the largest multi-employer employment training panel (etp) providers in california. Bavc trains nearly 3,000 students each year, through various programs. Bavc provide free and/or subsidized training to nearly 600 individuals each year.for more than 30 years, bavc has trained a diverse group of media, non-profit, and high-tech professionals and artists in various technologies including: video, broadcast, digital editing, web design, 3-d animation, game design, motion capture, digital photography and multi-media production. Students consistently give bavc high marks for the quality of our instructors and curriculum.bavc faculty includes award-winning and industry-certified professionals who are some of the most experienced and knowledgeable producers in new media today. Bavc instructors offer a unique, hands-on training style that results consistently in a 95% satisfaction rate from students.
