If an employee or director finds that they might be involved in a conflict of interest they promptly makes all facts known to the Executive Director and refrain from any exercise of responsibility in any manner reasonably considered to be affected by such adverse interest. Any possible conflict of interest on the part of any employee or board member are disclosed to the board. “The personnel committee, which is made up of 2 - 3 board members, performs a performance review on the Executive Directors (ED) work and accomplishments and based on their review the organization sets the EDs compensation. Our Board Personnel Committee assesses the performance and compensation of the Executive Director on an annual basis. The committee assess performance against goals and expectations, reviews the relative competitive position within the market and the industry and makes adjustments as they see fit. The last Executive Director review was conducted July 2015. While accessing these services, our advocacy-centered model of support ensures that clients will develop a self-determined pathway to well-beinga critical component of effective violence prevention work. |

Related recovery and new fire response activities in 2015 included direct service to survivors through disaster case management and leadership in local and county-wide recovery efforts. Employed by Room One, our three disaster case managers (DCM) help fire survivors access safe housing and recover social and emotional well-being, and ensure county, state and business services are responsive to survivors needs. To date, DCMs have served over 300 individuals. We represent health and social service needs and ensure resources are distributed equitably throughout the county - directing resources to those who are most vulnerable as a result of the disaster. Room One also holds a community fund that provides direct support to survivors and addresses unmet survivor needs through the Unmet Needs Roundtable. |

Additionally, Red Shed produce distributes fresh food every week to low-income women, children, and families through the Women, Infants and Childrens (WIC) program, the area Food Bank, the School Summer Lunch Program, and the Friday Food Program. In 2014, Red Shed Produce provided over three thousand servings of carrots, lettuce, broccoli, green beans, cabbage, summer squash, and more to local families. Students from the Independent Learning Center teens harvest produce from the Red Shed garden each week in the fall months and take cooking classes at Room One in the winter months (using food harvested earlier in the year). Through the cooking class teens receive a nutritious meal, and learn basic yet essential skills used in preparing a meal on a limited budget. |
