Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The mission of Joining Hands Visitation (JHV) is to help reunite foster care children with their non-custodial parents and to provide support for their independence, building stronger family ties and better futures - one child at a time. We focus on building a strong network with community organizations and social welfare agencies that empower foster care children and their families in becoming independent and self sufficient. JHV is a state contracted provider for supervised visitation and transportation in Grays Harbor and Pacific counties for the state of Washington Department of Children's Financial Services. We also offer supervised visitation to those who are under a civil matter via the civil court through private pay and not under DCYF jurisdiction.

To provide supervised visitation and transportation for children in foster care for the state of Washington in Grays Harbor, Pacific, Thurston, Lewis, Mason and Pierce Counties as dictated by awarded contract.

The is no commitee with authority to act on bg ehalf of the governing body. Governing body makes all decisions with board approval. Everything is voted on and documented in writing and all boards must sign off. Because of Covid-19 board meeting were on hiatus as it was difficult to get everyone together or contact everyone due their personal situations via phone, text, email, text, or Zoom. It was incrediably challenging to say the least however effort was made to include each board officers

Raises are performance based and if the individual meets all the metrics and qualifications any increase in wage is determined by the stability of revenue and funding of the agency. If the agency can sustain an increase, the wage is increased if warranted. Individual must also perform a self evaluation and submit to HR. PCV Team leads have input and may offer critique. Review is at initial 90 Days of employment and yearly thereafter unless neccessity deems otherwise in the case of personnel issues or serious job dereliction of duty., 2020|

Part III, line 3

Due to Covid-19 and the complications of exposure, the agency adapted to virtual visitation with the use of online video capabilities so that visitation would remain uninterrupted for the children the agency provided supervised visitation for. Once risks declined we resorted to the original form of supervised visitation but currently we provide not only in person but virtual visits as well for those unable to attend in person visits.
