Activity 2

Outpatient medicare care - aids arms provides hiv medical care at two medical clinics. The peabody health center (phc) was opened in 2001 with fewer than 200 patients and is located in south dallas. The trinity health and wellness center located in oak cliff was opened in september 2011. In fy 2011 both clinics served 1,119 clients with 5,865 medical visits.

Activity 3

The prevention services at aids arms are fully integrated in the agency's comprehensive continuum of care and focuses on risk reduction efforts with both hiv+ and individuals at risk for hiv. The agency provides the following prevention programming; 1) comprehensive risk counseling services (crcs) focus on individuals with multiple risk behaviors; 2) protocol-based counseling and testing (pbc) is an outreach activity that offers testing and counseling opportunities to individuals at risk of contracting hiv; 3) herr is a community outreach programming that offers health education and risk reduction to hiv+ or at risk, including education about transmission and how to reduce the risk of hiv transmission. In 2011, the agency achieved the following programmatic results; overall, 7,719 high risk individuals were reached through herr programming; 183 individuals participated in crcs activities; 4,209 individuals were tested for hiv.
