“MAP 1040 continued ministry work in Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and Israel as well as other nations of Brazil, Spain and Cuba for 2019. Sri Lanka, India and Israel continue to be the main countries of significance especially north India due to the difficult terrain and tense geopolitical environments. In 2019 the work in Sri Lanka had a significant shift with the Easter bombing attacks of Christian churches. One of our close partners on the east coast of Sri Lanka was bombed. We immediately went to Sri Lanka to help with urgent care of families affected both with funerals and medical expenses. The work also continues with our Family Counseling Centers FCC. The average monthly attendance seeking suicide intervention in this nation still stands at a very high rate. Our goal is to establish more FCC in more nations for the 2020 decade, especially in India. We continued our close partnership with Lady Willington Mission Hospital in Manali, India in 2019. One of our workers spent eight months onsite developing new avenues of mission effectiveness in three other cities around this region. These cities have specific minority people groups that are ostracized from main stream India due to ethnicity and or religious background. Also we again brought several medical specialists to volunteer in medical camps for the great needs of rural north India. We also supplied resources for our station medical and surgical camps in some of the poorest and most remote areas of the world. This work is in the Himalaya Mountain regions of Ladakh in Northern India. In 2019 we also continued development of a hostel targeting next generation youth. Young people both from India and abroad visit Manali as the drug trade is prolific in this area. The hospital asked us to increase drug abuse counseling among this age group to minister hope and rehabilitation. Another ongoing ministry is the procurement of motorcycles for indigenous workers to follow up monthly on our efforts. These bikes provide simple transportation in these difficult regions. In 2019 the efforts in Israel both in Jewish occupied regions and the West Bank proved fruitful. Israel is proving to be significant increase for MAP 1040 as the migrant worker force of Sri Lankan and Indian nationals have asked us to minister to them as they work in Israel. We have been doing this type work in the Emirates for several years so it is a natural fit to come along side these people. This year we also were invited to Cuba for the first time. We went to develop relationships with extremely impoverished rural tobacco farm workers. We did medical assessments to explore possible return for deeper work among the forgotten in the rural country sides of Cuba. Lastly we went to the slums of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to work in the Rio Dream Center doing counseling among the single moms and drug addicts. We plan to increase working in Rio by bringing medical professionals to volunteer among the poor. We are always excited and looking for new opportunities to serve the poorest and most hurting people in the nations of the world and our home country, the United States of America.”
