“MAP 1040 is a nonprofit mission organization working in the countries of Sri Lanka, India, Israel, and Nepal. Sri Lanka and India continue to be the main countries of significance, especially North India. The work in Sri Lanka continued with our Family Counseling Centers FCC. The average monthly attendance seeking suicide intervention in this nation still stands at an increase of over 500 young people per month. Our goal is to establish more FCC in more nations for 2019, especially in India and Pakistan. In 2018 the organization also saw deeper development of partnership with Lady Willingdon Mission Hospital in Manali, India. The newest project we completed in 2018 was to rebuild laundry services for the hospital. New commercial washers and dryers will keep the linens for the wards clean and ready. In 2018, we were able to bring several specialists to host specialized medical camps for the great needs of rural North India. We also were able to supply the resources for medical camps in some of the poorest and most remote areas of the world. This work is in the Himalaya Mountain regions of Northern India. In 2018 we also continued development of a hostel targeting next generation youth. Young people from both India and abroad visit Manali, as the drug trade is prolific in these areas. The hospital asked us to target drug abuse among this age group to minister hope and rehabilitation. 2018 found us again in Israel both in Jewish occupied regions and the West Bank. Israel is proving to be a significant increase in ministry for MAP 1040 as the migrant workforce of Sri Lankan and Indian nationals have asked us to minister to them as they work in Israel. We have been doing this type of work in the Emirates for several years, so it is a natural fit to come alongside these people. We are always excited at the opportunity to serve the poorest and hurting people in the nations of the world and out home country, The United States of America.”
