“Map 10/40 is a nonprofit mission organization working in the countries of sri lanka, india, israel, and had major involvement in hurricane relief in the us in 2017. Sri lanka and india continue to be the main countries of significance, but with the affect of the hurricanes on some of our key partners, we always respond to help hurting people. In 2017, the work in sri lanka continued with our family counseling centers fcc and we had the privilege to sponsor three water wells and a new community project of public restrooms in the war recovering north. The average monthly attendance seeking suicide intervention in this nation still stands at over 1000 young people per month. Our goal is to establish more fcc in more nations for 2018 especially in india and pakistan. 2017 also saw deeper developement of partnership with lady willingdon hospital in manali, india. The new project of onsite oxygen production has brought several positive affects of not having to travel 10 hours one way twice per week to transport oxygen bottles for patient needs. We continue to recruit and bring specialized medical professionals to work in the hospital in manali. Last year, we were able to bring in a cardiologist specialist to host specialized medical camps for the great need of heart medicine. We also, once again, supplied the resources for medical camps in some of the poorest and most remote areas of the world. This work is in the himalaya mountain regions of north india. 2017 also continued developement of a transient hostel targeting next generation youth. Young people both from india and abroad visit manali as the drug trade is prolific in these areas. The hospital asked us to target drug abuse among this age group to minister hope and rehabilitation. 2017 found us again in israel, both in jewish occupied regions and the west bank. Israel is proving to be a significant increase for map 1040, as the migrant worker force of sri lanka and indian nationals have asked us to minister to them as they work in israel. We have been doing this type of work in the emirates for several years, so it is a natural fit to come alongside these people. Our goal is to establish a fcc in israel, as the pressure of living in this volatile nation is proving extreme, especially among the next generation pursuing aliyah. When hurricane harvey devastated the houston area, we did not hesitate to load up our boats and supplies to go help rescue and provide assistance. Our network developed from years of relief efforts from the great tsunami of 2004, hurrican katrina, the nepal earthquake, to this storm this always prompts us to reach out and help our neighbors. We cooked over 20,000 plates of food and connected waves of ministry that even now, into 2018, we are still assisting hurting people to rebuild their lives. We are always excited at the opportunity to serve the poor and hurting people in the nations of the world and our home country, the united states of america.”
