“SupportOne's program accomplishments for fiscal 2015 include the following: Community Outings -continued enhancement of community engagement activities for SuppportOne residents, including special outings, individual recognition, and holiday events. SupportOne increased its volunteer and collaborative partnerships through the following activities: Partnership with HandsOn Greater Richmond now in its fourth year in an effort to engage volunteers supporting the organization has increased from 40 volunteers in 2012 to 200 volunteers in 2015. In 2015 we were able to provide our residents with monthly craft nights and quarterly birthday bashes. Teen Impact - A summer program that bought together teens and our residents for a day of activities. Successful partnership with the Catholic Heart Work Camp engaging more than 70 youth volunteers for a week during the summer to perform various property maintenance activities. Holiday Hero recruits volunteers to "adopt" a resident and help make their Christmas wish list come true. 3. Aging in Place Initiative - a. Partnered with James River Home Health to conduct an assessment of resident adaptive needs, resulting in several property modifications to accommodate aging residents and staff training b. Partnered with Housing Options, Inc. to initiate a downstairs renovation project for residents that are wheelchair bound and/or simply challenged by existing stairways.”
