“WSL PURE Director Natasha Ziff is an owner of the World Surf League WSL for which WSL PURE Director Erik Logan is CEO and WSL PURE Executive Director Emily Hofer is the Chief People Officer. Both Mr. Logan and Ms. Hofer receive compensation from WSL for these roles. In addition a company owned by WSL PURE Director David Saltzman is a philanthropy advisor to WSL PURE Director Natasha Ziff and receives compensation from the Ziff family for this role.”

“The Organization's Form 990 is initially reviewed by the Executive Director and by Legal Counsel before it is distributed to the full Board for review in advance of filing.”

“Periodic review are conducted to ensure the Organization operates in a manner consistent with its charitable purposes and does not engage in activities that could jeopardize its tax-exempt status. Periodic reviews include the following: a whether compensation arrangements and benefits are reasonable based on competent survey information and the result of arm's length bargaining; and b whether partnerships joint ventures and other similar arrangements i conform to the Organization's written policies are properly recorded reflect reasonable investment or payments for goods and services further charitable purposes and ii do not result in private inurement impermissible private benefit or excess benefit transactions. When conducting these reviews the Organization might use outside advisors. Their use does not relieve the Board of its responsibility for ensuring that periodic reviews are conducted.”

“The Organization did not provide any compensation to its Executive Director. The Organization does not have any other officers or "key employees". The Board shall review the fairness of any compensation including benefits paid to the Executive Director and all other officers when: a the officer is hired; b the officer's term of employment is extended or renewed; or c the officer's compensation is modified unless such modification occurs pursuant to a general modification of compensation that extends to all other employees of the Organization.”
