The organization hosted two academic conferences. The spring conference, in savannah, georgia, had about 245 attendees and focused on teaching gen z learners in changing times and teacher leadership. The fall conference, in chicago, illinois, had about 190 attendees and focused on supporting public schools, teachers, and students. The academy continued to develop its relationship with myers education press, arranging the publication of two more books: making sense of race in education: practices for change in difficult times, and a case for kindness: a new look at the teaching ethic. These books were distributed at the two above mentioned conferences, free of charge, to those attending the conferences. The academy continues to publish scholarly articles in its blind peer-reviewed open-access online journal, critical questions in education.
