The baldwin county education coalitions mission is to invest in public education by bridging gaps, supporting educators, and promoting student success through community engagement, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.

The coalitions conflict of interest policy is monitored regularly by the board members and officers, key employees, and directors are required to make an annual disclosure.

The baldwin county education coalitions executive committee is a standing board committee of the organization and is responsible for working in support of, or occasionally in place of, the full board. The work of the committee, as detailed in the committee charter, revolves around five major areas: perform policy work; act as liaison to the chief executive; help develop a strategic plan; conduct executive searches; handle urgent issues. In hiring the organizations executive director, the committee conducted the research necessary to determine an appropriate salary based on other not for profits of similar budget size, functionality, geographic region, and experience of the executive. Explanation continued: the information was gathered and shared with committee members and a meeting was held to deliberate the findings. Following deliberation and approval of the executive committee, a formal offer was presented to the chief executive.

Provide educational funding support to teachers and students where public funds are unavailable and expand teacher knowledge and skills through training and mentorships. We accomplish this by: hosting the annual gulf regional innovative teaching conference. A 3-day conference serving more than 1,200 educators annually. Sponsorship of the emplpoyee of the month program. Hosting the annual teacher of the year banquet recognising 45 teachers of the year, national board certified teachers, and counselors of the year. Provide essential items to every public school care closet (43 campuses), serving more than 17,000 economically disadvantaged students. Items range from school supplies, hygiene, clothing, health, household, snacks & water. Orders are placed online monthly by the school counselor, volunteers fulfill the orders, and the district warehouse personnel delivers orders directly to each school. Provide scholarships to qualifying students seeking a degree in education and to current educators seeking to advance in their career. Provide scholarships to career and technical education students to obtain necessary certifictions to enter the workforce. Serve as the nonprofit charitable arm and conduit to obtain charitable support for our public schools.
