Lutheran senior services is a not for profit organization owned by 104 lutheran churches and was initially founded in 1858. Lutheran senior services operates nine senior living communities serving over 3,000 older adults, nine affordable housing communities serving over 570 older adults and a variety of in home services programs serving over 5,000 older adults. In 2015, lss had total operating income of approximately $187,000,000, provided approximately $7,200,000 in benevolent care, had over 75,000 volunteer hours, and employed 18 chaplains.”
“In august 2015, the organization entered into an agreement with mercy hospital to purchase the assets (including the license for 120 snf beds) and assume the operation of an existing 120-bed care center located on the mercy hospital campus in west st. Louis county. The organization now operates the mercy facility under the name "reach west county".”
