The organization was founded in september 1977 to provide aid, comfort, & support to those in need in africa and to alleviate human suffering. The founding purpose was to provide emergency relief & assistance to refugees. Programs to provide assistance have expanded into education, health care, agricultural, and self-sufficiency.

THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL RECEIVED ELECTRICITY AND RUNNING WATER IN 2013, AND HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES WILL SOON BEGIN IN THE NEW BUILDING. AFTER THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE MOVED TO THE NEW BUILDING, TWO CONCRETE BLOCK BUILDINGS WITH THE CAPACITY OF EIGHT ADDITIONAL CLASSROOMS ARE PLANNED TO BE BUILT TO ACCOMODATE THE CURRENTLY OVERCROWDED CLASSROOMS. THE WELL AND RESERVOIR AREAS NOW HAVE ELECTRICITY, AND PROGRESS IS BEING MADE IN TESTING THE WATER LINES. ONCE COMPLETED, THE WATER PROJECT WILL SUPPLY CLEAN WATER TO 30,000 PEOPLE IN THE YETEBON COMMUNITY.

THE BREEDING PROGRAM IS PROGRESSING WELL WITH 44 JERSEY CROSS-BRED HEIFERS AND TWO SECOND-GENERATION CALVES THAT HAVE BEEN BORN. THE PROGRAM TRAINS LOCAL FARMERS IN ANIMAL HUSBANDRY, THE PRODUCTION OF FORAGE, AND IN THE CARE OF THE CROSS-BRED HEIFERS AND THEIR CALVES. CURRENTLY, 83 COMMUNITY FARMERS HAVE BEEN TRAINED IN DAIRY FARM MANAGEMENT, AND IN 2013, THE FIRST FIVE JERSEY CROSS-BRED PREGNANT HEIFERS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO FIVE LOCAL FARMERS IN CHA CHA, MARKING A MAJOR MILESTONE FOR THE PROGRAM. NOW THAT THE HEIFERS ARE BEING DISTRIBUTED TO LOCAL FARMERS, THE PROGRAM WILL BEGIN TO TRAIN THESE FARMERS IN MILK MARKETING.

THE ORGANIZATION'S NEXT STEPS WILL BE BUILDING THE ADDITIONAL 24 HOMES AND THE ACTIVITY CENTER AT THE CHILDRENS' INSTITUTE. WHEN FINISHED, THE SITE WILL PROVIDE THIRTY HOMES TO CARE FOR ORPHANED CHILDREN AS A RESULT OF HIV/AIDS.
