Activity 2

Education bayarts primary focus is art enrichment through classes, workshops and collaborations. Children from ages 3 and up, teens, adults and seniors attend classes year round taught by professional artists and certified teachers. Bayarts summer camps provide artistic instruction in a park setting for children. Camps in collaboration with lake erie nature and science center in the cleveland metroparks combine elements of art and nature at each venue within walking distance. Scout programs include weeklong camps exploring art, nature, dance and music, friendship and scout values; badges and awards of merit are earned through the camp. Quarterly class offerings are varied and challenging. For adults, beginning and professional courses are offered in painting, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture and more. Adults who focus on a particular medium, tend to challenge themselves with varied instructors and techniques. Teens from high school to college age can develop portfolio elements, hone skills and work with experienced artists. On the horizon is a broader offering of pre-school programs, upgraded ceramics studio and visiting artist workshops.

Activity 3

Gallery bayarts showcases the work of regional artists with 20 exhibitions a year: 10 in each of 2 galleries, with coordinated themes and exhibition dates. The sullivan family gallery features professional and emerging artists, an annual juried show with cash awards and collaborations with other art organizations such as zygote press and morgan conservatory of paper making. The artists receive a commission (generally of 70% of 30%). The dianne boldman gallery focuses on the work of bayarts faculty, student work and is the setting of an annual educational fundraiser and an annual youth scholarship show. The artist receive a commission in some cases, awards of merit, or donate their work towards fundraising efforts. Bayarts gallery openings are a free social, networking opportunity open to the public and are held each month.
