Mission

Keep indianapolis beautiful, inc. ("kib") receives contributions from foundations, corporations and the general public for beautification and placemaking, community forestry and youth programming. Kib also contracts with the city of indianapolis and other local entities on community improvement and green infrastructure projects.

The updated by-laws approved by the board in june included an increase to the expense threshold for which expenditures must have the signature of the board chair or treasurer. The threshold was increased from $25k to $50k.

Professional accounting standards require kib to recognize a tax liability only if it is more likely than not the tax position would be sustained in the event of a tax examination, with a tax examination being presumed to occur. The amount recognized is the largest amount of tax liability greater than 50% likely of being realized upon examination. For tax positions not meeting the more-likely-than-not test, no tax liability is recorded. Kib examined this issue and determined there are no material contingent tax liabilities or questionable tax positions. Tax years ended after december 31, 2019 are open to audit for both federal and state purposes.

A MAP OF ADOPTED BLOCKS IS AVAILABLE AT WWW.KIBI.ORG/ADOPT-A-BLOCK.WE PARTNERED WITH KEYS2WORK, AN AGENCY THAT WORKS WITH ADULTS WHO HAVE LEFT THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND HELPS PROVIDE LIVABLE WAGES AND SOCIAL SERVICES. WE HIRED TWO FULL-TIME CREWS A TOTAL OF 12 PEOPLE TO REGULARLY CLEANUP 20 OF THE BUSIEST AND MOST LITTERED ROADWAYS IN INDIANAPOLIS.
