Quality stars or naeyc (national association for the education of young children) for ten ymca programs. - summer day camp is a time of active play and discovery for kids. We served an average of 275 children each week for 11 weeks through educational experiences that prevented summer learning loss. - in a partnership with the city of hamilton, the central ymca operated a free, summer program for 179 low-income youth at four city parks. Youth have the opportunity to enjoy their natural environments, build relationships with positive role models and participate in healthy activities.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

Benefit, activtrax, to achieve goals and reach for more. Activtrax is an online fitness and nutrition coach that provides customized workouts accessed through branch kiosks, a mobile app, or computer. - cancer survivors improve their quality of life and diminish the severity of therapy side effects through the livestrong at the ymca program. We expanded this program at all 6 branches, where we have created supportive communities for adults to reclaim their physical strength and reduce stress. - we added new and innovative group exercise classes to encourage people to push their limits and connect with others through social support.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

Family time - we foster family fun for 5,700 families by engaging them in family fitness classes, easter egg hunts, santa breakfasts and family camps. Giving & volunteerism - 950 program volunteers and 90 policy volunteers dedicated their time and talents to a wide range of programs and events and led our y with wisdom and compassion. - charitable support and community partners are necessary to engage communities and address community needs. 1,140 donors enabled us to raise 1,137,750 at the ymca through individual gifts, corporate giving, foundation grants, and united way. Donations allow us to fulfill our mission of providing programs "for all." community outreach initiatives/collaborations - joe nuxhall miracle league fields - through this collaboration, the y operates adaptive baseball leagues for special needs youth, ages 5-16. This league creates recreational opportunities for youth in an accepting, safe and fun environment for them to play baseball. With this program, over 300 program volunteers provided over 2,400 hours of service to children with physical and intellectual disabilities in 2014. - fun2bfit youth exercise & nutrition program, a collaborative partnership with cincinnati children's hospital medical center's center for better health & nutrition, serves to help reverse the trends of childhood obesity in our communities through engaging youth in active play, cardiovascular, and strength training on a weekly basis. The program is currently operating in four of our gmvy branch locations. - healthy kids day - each year, the y hosts healthy kids day, a free family-oriented day of play and activity that is open to the community. More than 200 families attend to get up and get active. - operation splash - more than 100 underserved youth in the hamilton and middletown communities learned basic swimming skills and water safety. Youth in this free program gained a sense of accomplishment, increased self-confidence and security near the water. - y club - teens enriched their lives in a free after school program focused on positive behaviors, staying active and strengthening character. A free program for these youth, y staff saw better grades, acceptance of others and improved social skills in youth that attended regularly. - btw community center - after a year of engaging various stakeholders, the booker t. Washington community center is on the cusp of entering into a new partnership. The community center's board, the city of hamilton and the great miami valley ymca are collaborating with a variety of local non- profits in an effort to enhance the facility and programs offered at the community center. The btw community center collaboration includes the city of hamilton, the boys & girls club, the fitton center for creative arts, miami university, self, the ymca, ywca and btw board volunteers, to partner on program offerings to serve the second ward of hamilton. This collaboration provides youth and families with twenty programs that represent the programmatic expertise of each agency. From swim lessons to homework assistance, from getting ahead classes to emergency utility assistance, from art lessons to growing vegetables, the size and scope of this effort is uniquely inspiring. The ymca was approached by the city of hamilton in 2012 with a request that the ymca become the lead managing entity at the community center. The ymca then invited multiple community partners whose combined expertise can serve the btw community center with effective programming.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america require management to evaluate tax positions taken by the association and recognize a tax liability if the association has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would fail to be sustained upon examination by the internal revenue service. The association is exempt from federal income taxes and management believes the association has not engaged in any activities that would disqualify it from tax-exempt status or incur a tax obligation for the years ended december 31, 2014 and 2013. The association believes their estimates are appropriate based on current facts and circumstances. The association is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. The association believes it is no longer subject to income tax examinations for years ended prior to december 31, 2010. The association's policy with regard to interest and penalty, if incurred, is to recognize interest through interest expense and penalties through other expenses.
