FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The a21 campaign is a non-profit organization engaged in the abolishment of human injustice, particularly in regards to human trafficking. The a21 campaign stands for "abolishing injustice in the 21st century- and was officially launched in march 2008. We have offices in greece, ukraine, bulgaria, norway, the united kingdom, australia, usa (west coast and east coast), south africa and thailand. We aim to raise awareness through our prevention initiatives in order to save thousands of people from becoming victims by informing the next generation. We aim to protect those who have been trafficked through the provision of crisis shelters and transition homes. We want to give them access to educational and vocational opportunities to improve their ability to work in more meaningful and safe employment. We aim to prosecute those individuals who traffic people into slavery and we also aim to promote changes in legislation to ensure that traffickers are brought to justice. This is done through partnerships with other organizations such as police, other law enforcement agencies (leas), immigration, border controls, embassies/consulates and other non- government organizations. Our aim is to rescue, restore and rebuild the lives of those affected by injustice in the 21st century.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

The organization has been granted exemption by the internal revenue service (irs) from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the irc. The irs has also determined that the organization is not a private foundation. The organization is required to report and pay taxes on unrelated business income to the irs and other local jurisdictions. There was no liability for unrelated business income taxes as of december 31, 2021 and 2020. Under accounting standard codification ("asc") 740, "accounting for uncertain in income tax", income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The organization analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the irs and all state jurisdictions where it operates. The organization believes that income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the organization's financial condition, results of operations or cash flows. Accordingly, the organization has not recorded a related accrual for interest and penalties for uncertain income tax positions at december 31, 2021 and 2020. The organization is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions from fiscal year end 2013 forward; however, there are currently no audits for any open tax periods.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0THE ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN GRANTED EXEMPTION BY THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE (IRS) FROM FEDERAL INCOME TAXES UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) OF THE IRC.
