We want to give them access to educational and vocational opportunities to improve their ability to work in more meaningful and safe employment. We aim to prosecute those individuals who traffic people into slavery and we also aim to promote changes in legislation to ensure that traffickers are brought to justice all of this is done through partnerships with other organizations such as police, other law enforcement agencies (leas), immigration, border controls, embassies/consulates and other non- government organizations. Our aim is to rescue, restore and rebuild the lives of those affected by injustice in the 21st century. 2016 achievements from launching a national human trafficking resource line in south africa and building homes for refugees, to assisting in the rescue of 77 refugees from a warehouse and starting operations in denmark, 2016 was filled with stories of victory and significant moments. Each achievement falls within a21's operational strategy, which is to reach, rescue, and restore the lives of human trafficking victims. Reach -global prevention and awareness millions of men, women, and children were reached through a21's prevention efforts in 2016. An estimated 1,341,126 people were reached through prevention and awareness events. -global walk for freedom the 2016 walk for freedom, a global event held annually by a21, was the organization's largest awareness event to date. On october 15, 2016, over 300 locations in 40 countries around the globe marched together and rallied around the mission of raising awareness about the realities of human trafficking. Over 60 million people were reached through live events, media and social media. -freedom containers and awareness for refugees in 2016, a21 deployed 15 freedom containers across greece for three key purposes: to educate refugees about human trafficking so they can protect their families (with 152,466 reached), to provide access to clean water (with 11,913,500 portions of clean water given to refugees), and to allow refugees to enjoy a hot shower in the middle of winter (with 553,233 clean and warm showers provided). A21 also launched cinema nights throughout refugee camps in greece. Groups of refugees gathered around a large screen to watch children's movies. During the screenings, a21 showed their awareness video to educate the audience on the dangers of human trafficking. The awareness video protects refugees by highlighting the 1109 resource line in a familiar language, while the movie places dignity on families and brings more laughter into camps. In the refugee camps, a21 created and distributed a prevention comic book that is designed to keep children of all ages safe from traffickers. The illustrated book traces the journey of a refugee family who left their home and arrived at a camp. It shows the children being approached by a stranger, and how the kids respond to the potentially dangerous situation. By highlighting the danger of exploitation, the booklet reduces vulnerability in refugee camps. -bodies are not commodities curriculum in 2016, a21 launched its high school curriculum, bodies are not commodities, in australia and latin america. “The organization has been granted exemption by the internal revenue service (irs) from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The irs has also determined that the organization is not a private foundation. The organization is required to report and pay taxes on unrelated business income to the irs and other local jurisdictions. There was no unrelated business income taxes as of december 31, 2016 and 2015. The organization follows accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more likely than not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The organization analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the irs and all state jurisdictions where it operates. The organization believes that income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the organization's financial condition, results of operations, or cash flows. Accordingly, the organization has not recorded a related accrual for interest and penalties for uncertain tax positions at december 31, 2016 and 2015. The organization is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions from fiscal year end 2013 forward; however, there are currently no audits for any open tax periods.”

WE HAVE OFFICES IN GREECE, UKRAINE, BULGARIA, NORWAY, THE UNITED KINGDOM, AUSTRALIA, USA (WEST COAST AND EAST COAST), SOUTH AFRICA AND THAILAND. ORGANIZATIONALLY WE AIM TO FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING INITIATIVES: PREVENTION (AWARENESS & EDUCATION), PROTECTION, PROSECUTION, AND PARTNERSHIP. WE AIM TO RAISE AWARENESS THROUGH OUR PREVENTION INITIATIVES IN ORDER TO SAVE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE FROM BECOMING VICTIMS BY INFORMING THE NEXT GENERATION. WE AIM TO PROTECT THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TRAFFICKED THROUGH THE PROVISION OF CRISIS SHELTERS AND TRANSITION HOMES.
