We want to give them access to educational and vocational opportunities to improve their ability to work in more meaningful and safe employment. We aim to prosecute those individuals who traffic people into slavery and we also aim to promote changes in legislation to ensure that traffickers are brought to justice. This is done through partnerships with other organizations such as police, other law enforcement agencies (leas), immigration, border controls, embassies/consulates and other non- government organizations. Our aim is to rescue, restore and rebuild the lives of those affected by injustice in the 21st century. 2017 achievements 2017 was a year of more - more survivors in our care, court cases won, traffickers sentenced, professionals trained, and students reached. Some of the key highlights from the year include: grand opening of our child advocacy center in thailand, receivng the mother teresa memorial award for social justice, almost 10,000 calls to our hotlines, 10 court cases won, and 129 operations resulting in 182 victims being identified. “The organization is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code as other than a private foundation. The organization follows accounting standard codification 740, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The organization analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the irs and all state jurisdictions where it operates. The organization believes that income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the organization's financial condition, results of operations or cash flows. Accordingly, the organization has not recorded a related accrual for interest and penalties for uncertain tax positions as of december 31, 2017. The organization is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions from fiscal year end 2013 forward. There are currently no audits for any open tax periods.”
