We want to give them access to educational and vocational opportunities to improve their ability to work in more meaningful and safe employment. We aim to prosecute those individuals who traffic people into slavery and we also aim to promote changes in legislation to ensure that traffickers are brought to justice all of this is done through partnerships with other organizations such as police, other law enforcement agencies (leas), immigration, border controls, embassies/consulates and other non- government organizations. Our aim is to rescue, restore and rebuild the lives of those affected by injustice in the 21st century. 2015 achievements prevention & awareness: new office - netherlands in 2015 we opened our 11th office, located in amsterdam. The netherlands is a source, transit and destination country for human trafficking. Thirty percent of trafficking involves females, and 70 percent are from eastern european countries. Our office in amsterdam is already off to a strong start with fantastic support from around the country. We are excited for all of the possibilities ahead to mobilize dutch people to become part of the solution to human trafficking. Global walk for freedom on october 17, people across the globe rallied together, along with the a21 team, to raise awareness in the 2015 walkforfreedom. We had 22 countries across the globe participate in the walk, reaching more than 45 million people worldwide through live events, media and social media. National hotlines bulgaria: in 2015, we used the event of the walk for freedom to launch our brand new national hotline in bulgaria. The 0800 20 100 hotline is available nationwide, and we received more than 60 calls in the first week alone. Calls from bulgaria and the european union to the hotline are taken 24/7 and free for the caller. Greece: in 2015, our 1109 hotline in greece continued to see a steady stream of calls. The result has seen 70% of all rescues to a21 care coming through our hotline. Gatwick airport (uk) - officer training this year we have continued our prevention and awareness work at gatwick airport, uk. We have continued to train aviation security officers, gatwick airport staff and borderforce officials and also trained surrounding gatwick hotels. We have raised awareness with easy jet and monarch airlines crew staff and held gatwick awareness days in the terminals of the airport where 10,000 passengers pass through each day. We produced and distributed to over 5,000 staff members a human trafficking information leaflet for gatwick airport. Capetown airport - comair training a21 was invited to train comair staff on identifying trafficking in the airports. Many of the staff members could recall incidents which they could identify as potential trafficking situations. One of the staff members was in tears and said that her job has a greater purpose now than just selling tickets. Frontline professionals training in greece this year we expanded our frontline professionals training from police officers and the coast guard to also include medical professionals, hotel staff, teachers, students and churches. Through this training in 2015, we have been able to reach 548 poli”

“The organization has been granted exemption by the internal revenue service (irs) from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The irs has also determined that the organization is not a private foundation. The organization is required to report and pay taxes on unrelated business income to the irs and other local jurisdictions. There was no unrelated business income taxes as of december 31, 2015 and 2014. The organization follows accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more likely than not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The organization analyed tax positions taken for filing with the irs and all state jurisdictions where it operates. The organization believes that income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the organization's financial condition, results of operations, or cash flows. Accordingly, the organization has not recorded a related accrual for interest and penalties for uncertain tax positions at december 31, 2015 and 2014. The organiztion is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions from fiscal year end 2010 forward; however, there are currently no audits for any open tax periods.”
