OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Emerald New Deal: From late Spring to early Fall 2021, staff and volunteers of the Emerald New Deal conducted more then 1,200 household surveys in East Oakland on their opinions on the War on Drugs and how it has affected families and communities. END staff and volunteers presented this research to various stakeholders in Oakland, including City Council representatives to gauge their support for an initiative that will re-purpose Oaklands Cannabis Tax revenues to attend to the harm caused by the War on drugs on Oakland residents.

Each of the Fellowship participants received 8 days of Basic Organizer Training Sessions, a mentor match, and field support from Spadework training team. The program produced new curricula on that profiled historical campaigns, leadership development assessments, and the Seasons and Cycles of Organizing.
