OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: EMERALD NEW DEAL $123,629Identifying community priorities of neighborhoods most impacted by the War on Drugs was the central goal in 2020. The project conducted more than 300 door-to-door surveys in deep East and West Oakland when COVID hit, and was forced to adjust to virtual and social media engagement. It launched the "Emerald New Deal Channel" as a weekly live-streaming show thru Facebook, webinar series with leaders of local organizations, and production of website and other outreach collaterals.

Core curriculum included Contact Work for Organizing, Race & Systems Change, Issue Development Process, and Leadership Development. The unanimous evaluation of the pilot program is to deepen and expand the offerings, even under COVID, which resulted in the inauguration of SpadeWork in 2021.
