Mission

The objectives of the association shall be:to promote the general welfare of the commerical and industrial insulation and environmental remediation industries. To improve the service, directly and otherwise, to the general public performed by the commercial and industrial insulation and environmental remediation industries. To cooperate with officials of government agencies in any program considered essential to the national welfare or otherwise. To do anything necessary and proper for the accomplishment of any purposes herein set forth or which may be recognized as a proper and lawful objective of a trade association. To engage in any lawful act or activity for which a corporation may be formed pursuant to the act, and to comply fully with federal and state antitrust laws, statutes, rules and regulations.

To promote the general welfare of the commercial and industrial insulation and environmental remediation industries.

Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6

There are several classes of membership, with active members allowed voting rights. Eligibility: any person, firm, partnership, corporation, or legal entity, a part of whose business is contracting, distributing, fabricating, or laminating of commerical or industrial insulation, fire proofing, or fire stopping, and/or environmental remediation products or services, shall be eligible to become an active member of the association.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

The association's members are responsible for voting for 19 directors who shall constitute its board of directors. Only active members shall be entitled to vote, either in person or by proxy, at any meeting of members. Each active member shall be entitled to one vote upon any matter submitted to a vote of the members.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The association received a determination letter from the internal revenue service that it has been granted an exemption from federal income taxes and that it qualifies under section 501(c)(6) of the internal revenue code. The association believes that its operations are consistent with the nature of their exemption granted by the irs. The association is taxed on net income derived from unrelated business activities. In accordance with gaap, management has concluded that there are no uncertain tax positions as of june 30, 2016.
