“Infoage is a unique collection of over fifteen museums and exhibits focused primarily on the preservation and education of communications and electronics technology (think stem) and the almost 100-year history of service of our campus in the defense of the united states. Our 35-acre campus is located on the camp evans national landmark and new jersey's world war ii living memorial and contains 28 major buildings and dozens of smaller buildings to include the unique buckminster fuller designed dymaxion deployment units (ddu). At present, there is over 43,000 square feet of museum and exhibit space; the opening of the electronic warfare/radar pavilion in 2023 will add another 4,000 square feet of interactive and hands-on exhibit space. To manage this sizeable campus takes a dedicated board, staff and volunteers. Infoage has an eighteen member fully engaged board with diverse experience, education and background that lends itself not only to our primary mission but also our sub-missions. Our staff is composed of two full time employees (a facility manager and an administrator) and seven part time employees (the ceo, a janitor, four admissions staff and a volunteer coordinator) who work a total of 35 hours (f/t) per week, and 20 hours (ceo) and 5 hours for the other staff. However, the backbone of infoage is its volunteers. 2023 has been a great year and we were able to do so much: first of all, you now enter our campus through our new entry gate thanks to a grant from manasquan bank. We installed a new ada ramp right off the lobby to make it much easier for individuals with mobility issues to visit us. We finally got the rc-12h guardrail ew aircraft and have initiated a fundraiser to restore the plane. A fire museum to highlight the huge amount of modern innovation in the fire service that can be linked to military developments is our newest museum; it will open in august 2024. A "women in defense" exhibit is being developed and will open in november. Our african american exhibit was revamped and opened on october14. The infoage space exploration center (isec) received some outstanding artifacts and professional displays from nasa and the private sector. Broadway, the hallway connecting our museums in the h buildings, is now open and usable. The historic divers received another hypobaric chamber for the maritime pavilion. The chamber will be used as examples of diver technology demonstrating several laws of physics besides being an attractive exhibit. The holiday spectacular and christmas train show in december had attendance surpass pre-covid levels. Of note, most of the visitors had never been to infoage before. Our stem education programs really came alive this year. We had over 900 students from schools throughout new jersey and from new york city visit not just to look at exhibits but to become involved in a learning experience. This included learning how to solder, basic programming, podcasting, laser cutting and design, and using micro controllers. Students and educators are also welcome to participate in scheduled events like nj makers day in march; weekly microcontroller mondays; bimonthly tech repair workshops; lectures by staff and renowned guests; and professional development. Additional stem and education and outreach programs were also well received and well attended: the vintage computer fest - east, was attended by over 2,100 people from 6 countries and 14 states; the vintage computer federation also hosted swap and repair meets throughout the year. The monthly infoage space exploration center (isec) "spaceflight lecture series" featured presentations given by nasa ambassador frank o'brien. The bi-monthly lecture series focuses on history and science and included presentations such as nasa's "mission to pluto and the kuiper belt" by mission operations manager alice bowman, the "israeli defense system iron dome and iron beam", and "machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the future of education".
