“NJIO modified its schedule during this period to deal with Covid 19 disruptions. In the summer of 2020 NJIO substituted two online Music Educiation courses on the topic of Music Theory(beginner and advanced), which were well attended and appreciated for its in person Summer Chamber Workshops. In September we began rehearsing over Zoom and created a virtual Fall Concert video which was made available to our community audience. Our Outreach Ensemble continued rehearsing during this quarantine period, but were unable to perform in person at their usual locations, which included Senior Centers and Care Homes, as they were the most severely impacted by the pandemic. The Outreach ensemble prepared a video which they were able to share with these facilities and their residents. Online orchestral rehersal continued in the winter of 2020-2021, but by spring the newly available vaccines and the seasonable weather meant that outdoor live rehearsals were now a possibility. In early June, 2021 NJIO presented its first live conert since February, 2020. Audience space was limited, but it was live-streamed and was well-received. A second live stream concert was held in late June 2021. All of NJIO's concerts were presented free of charge.”
