“Njio produced 4 full symphonic concerts for the community during the year. One of the concerts was a family concert. Another was the 25th anniversary concert. The winner of njio young artists concerto competition performed in 1 of the concerts. Njio held 28 rehearsals in advance of the 4 concerts which served as learning experiences for its members. In addition njio's outreach group performed at 10 venues-primarily senior centers, assisted living or nursing homes to bring music to those who cannot easily attend njio concerts. The outreach repertoire is light classical and the ensemble consists of 4 to 20 members depending on the requirement of the venue. Njio hosted two 4 week summer chamber music workshops. Njio members have ranged in age from 6 to 94 and have come from over 44 communities thoughout new jersey.”
