Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Crsf is exempt from income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, and has been classified by the internal revenue service as an organization that is not a private foundation. However, unrelated business income would be subject to federal income taxes. Management of crsf believes its activities allow it to continue to be classified as an organization exempt from income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and believes there are no activities subject to unrelated business income tax. Crsf files federal form 990, return of organization exempt from income tax, with the internal revenue service and copies of these filings with states in which crsf is registered, as required. The statute of limitations for examination of crsf's returns expires three years from the due date of the return or the date filed, whichever is later. Crsf's returns for the years ended december 31, 2013 and 2015, are still open for examination.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0CONNECT SANTA FE. CRSF IS COMMITTED TO CITY VIBRANCY, CULTURAL PARTNERSHIPS, SUPPORTING OUR DISTINCT CREATIVE AND CULTURAL ASSETS, AND SUPPORTING YOUTH AND NIGHTLIFE. FANTASE FEST IS STRATEGICALLY LOCATED IN DEVARGAS PARK WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE PLAZA AND THE GUADALUPE SHOPPING DISTRICT. IT DRAWS YOUNG FAMILIES AND A DIVERSE CROSS-SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY TO THE HISTORIC CORE OF THE CITY ON A SATURDAY EVENING. BY PROVIDING AN UNUSUAL ARTS-BASED COMMUNITY EVENT, IT SETS AN EXAMPLE FOR EVENTS DESIGNED TO INCREASE THE ATTRACTIVENESS OF SANTA FE FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. FANTASE FEST 2015 TRANSFORMED DOWNTOWN SANTA FE INTO AN EXTRAVAGANZA OF LIGHT, ART, MUSIC, AND VITALITY - HIGHLIGHTING SANTA FE'S EXTRAORDINARY CULTURAL AND CREATIVE ASSETS THAT GO FAR BEYOND THE ASSUMED IDENTITY OF SANTA FE, INVITING THE PUBLIC TO REDISCOVER THESE SPACES AND SEE THEM IN A NEW LIGHT. THE FESTIVAL ENABLES ARTISTS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS TO EXPAND THEIR PRACTICE BEYOND THE GALLERY AND MUSEUM TO ENGAGE A LARGE AND DIVERSE AUDIENCE; AND TO EXPLORE AN EXPANDED IDENTITY FOR THE CITY OF SANTA FE.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActyOtherGrp/Desc1EDUCATION AND OUTREACH. EDUCATION AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES OF CRSF IN 2015 INCLUDED CREATE THE VOTE AND IF: IMAGINED FUTURES. CREATE THE VOTE WAS A COLLABORATION OF ARTS, CULTURAL, AND CREATIVE ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES WORKING TOGETHER THROUGH NON-PARTISAN PUBLIC FORUMS TO RAISE THE ISSUES OF ARTS, CULTURE, AND CREATIVITY AMONG CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR POLITICAL OFFICE IN SANTA FE IN 2014. THE MAYORAL AND CITY COUNCIL CAMPAIGN GAVE SANTA FEANS THE CHANCE TO DISCUSS STRENGTHS AND CHALLENGES OF SANTA FE AND TO DEBATE THE VISION FOR SANTA FE'S FUTURE. CRSF RELEASED QUESTIONNAIRES TO MAYORAL AND CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES TO CLARIFY THEIR POSITION ON CREATIVE ECONOMY ISSUES. CRSF'S WEBSITE IS ALSO A PART OF CRSF'S EDUCATION AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES. IF: IMAGINED FUTURES BRINGS IDEA-DRIVEN LEADERS FROM THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY AND WORLD TO SANTA FE TO INSPIRE, EDUCATE, AND BUILD ON-GOING NETWORKS FOR SANTA FE. IF: IMAGINED FUTURES SEEKS TO EXPLORE THE FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION, "WHAT IS THE BRIGHTEST FUTURE IMAGINABLE FOR SANTA FE AND WHAT STEPS CAN BE TAKEN TO ACHIEVE THAT GOAL?" PANEL DISCUSSIONS, LECTURES, CONVERSATIONS, AND PRESENTATIONS PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES TO INVESTIGATE HOW TO ENRICH SANTA FE'S FUTURE WITH FEASIBLE STRATEGIES FOR TANGIBLE CHANGE. IN 2015 PLANS WERE DEVELOPED FOR LECTURES ON CREATIVE PLACEMAKING AND OTHER SUBJECTS RELATED TO THE A+CC.
